Ron Duncan is leading the Corporate Innovation Programs globally out of the Chief Innovation Office at Synopsys. The Chief Innovation Office is part of the Office of the CEO.
He has technical and leadership experience in various semiconductor-related areas and currently focuses on emerging technology applications such as AI, quantum/superconducting computing, automotive electronics, neuromorphic computing, and silicon photonics.
He has represented Synopsys at a variety of international conferences and government research symposiums, including: GOMACTech (Government Microcircuit Applications & Critical Technology Conference), DAC (Design Automation Conference), DesignCon, ICCAD, HBCU Annual Conference, NSBE National Conference, Applied Superconductivity Conference, US Committee for Superconducting Electronics (USC4SCE) Workshop, IARPA SuperTools workshops, the World Semiconductor Scholars’ Forum, and many Synopsys Users Groups (SNUG).
Ron received Electrical Engineering degrees from MIT (BS) and Cornell University (MS). Prior to Synopsys, he held leadership, management and technical positions at Avant!, ISS and Hewlett Packard. He is active in several of Synopsys’ Inclusion and Diversity initiatives, is a Synopsys Excellence Award Winner, and co-leads the Synopsys black Employee Resource Group (ERG), “VIBE”. Ron is passionate about supporting the next generation of STEM talent, often gives tech talks to university/student organizations, and was one of the technologists featured in the “Chip In” episodes of the RoadTrip Nation documentary series.
In his spare time Ron is an MIT Educational Counselor, a board member for a non-profit organization, and an avid marathon runner.
